Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation
Injuries affect how you live and can cause you to abandon activities you love.
Massage therapy is used to treat both cumulative injuries and sudden injuries. Treatment begins with identifying and eliminating factors that caused the injury then rehabilitating the injured tissues.
Avoiding injuries is ideal. If you regularly participate in physical activity or perform the same motion over and over again, you may be at risk for a cumulative injury. We will work with you to identify risk factors that increase the likelihood of injury and develop treatment plans to maintain your tissue health.
Some common injuries that are treated by massage therapy:
- Back and neck pain
- Repetitive Strain injuries, like carpal tunnel syndrome
- Tendonitis
- Sprains and strains
- Frozen shoulder
- Shin Splints
- Plantar fasciitis
- ITB Syndrome
- Runner’s knee
- Jaw problems (TMJ)
- Headaches / migraines
- Arthritis (symptom relief)
